First Annual Experimental Guitar Show
SAN DIEGO EXPERIMENTAL GUITAR (SDXG) SHOW

 

When: Jan 02, 2010 show starts at 9 p.m.
Where: The Soda Bar, located at 3615 El Cajon Blvd

What: This event encourages local musicians who have outgrown the limitations of conventional guitar playing. These artists have expanded their technique by using their imagination rather than instruction. Gone are the orthodox chords and standard scales normally attributed to the instrument. A new musical vocabulary of tone and timbre emerges in its place.

Saturday January 30 • 2-4 p.m. Fee $20 KEV - Beginning Acoustic Blues Guitar Workshop

This is a fun hands-on workshop taught by KEV-Kevin Rones geared towards beginners and intermediate guitar players.

Learn basic blues progressions, tunes, tips, tricks and how to play well with others. Handouts will be provided. Bring your guitar- no amps please. Limited number of attendees.

KEV - Beginning Fingerstyle Guitar Workshop
fee $20

This is a fun hands-on 'Finger pickin' Good' workshop taught by KEV-Kevin Rones. Geared towards beginners and intermediate guitar players.
A great introduction into fingerstyle featuring various fingerpicking styles.
Handouts will be provided.

Saturday March 27 • 2-4 p.m. 
KEV - Altered & Open tuning Guitar Workshop
fee $30

This is a hands-on workshop taught by KEV-Kevin Rones geared towards intermediate and advanced guitar players.

A variety of Tunings will be covered. Learn chords and chord shapes in Altered and Open Tunings. You will also learn how to get in and out of tunings and back to standard. Handouts will be provided.
